Margaret Lunnon (Headteacher)
I am Headteacher at Hampton Lucy CofE Primary School and Nursery with 95 pupils and 10 nursery places. I have been in post for 18 years during which time I have been a Consultant Headteacher for the Local Authority working in a wide range of schools and I have piloted dual headship with another local Church of England Primary School. I have been involved with the Diocese of Coventry leading on the Professional Leadership Course linked with Liverpool Hope University. This involved working with newly appointed Headteachers and Leaders from across the country. I am currently developing a succession plan for the school preparing the new leaders of the future, something that I am extremely passionate about.
Our school is a very good school with outstanding practice and I am proud to be part of the team that has achieved this. I was delighted at the judgment of Outstanding in our SIAS inspection because I believe that it is crucial that we all know what it means to be in a Church of England Primary School. The children are the heart of the school and it is their leadership that inspires me. The children in school feel safe and learn about the values and morals that enable them to achieve academically, socially, morally, spiritually and culturally.
Dave Holland (LA Governor and Chair)
Professionally, my background is Data and Analytics and after 10 years of running my own business, I joined Coventry Building Society in 2016 to lead their MI Programme.
I have served as a Governor since 2011 and was elected Chair in 2015. I am extremely proud of our school's achievements over the last few years and I am delighted to lead a great team who are committed to making Hampton Lucy a unique learning experience and continuing our journey to Outstanding.
I have three children in the school and my eldest left in 2017 after eight fantastic years at the school.
I am also a local resident so I recognise the importance of our school to the local community.
Neil Thomas (Parent Governor and Vice Chair)
Neil has worked in the Commercial Vehicle industry for more than 35 years. Neil has a Daughter at Hampton Lucy School. He has been a parent Governor since December 2016 and was recently selected as Chair of the Performance & Standards Committee with particular focus on the Schools Learning Improvement Plan. Neil is also Deputy Chair of Governors, he has helped the School develop its presence on Facebook.
As a parent, I’m proud to be a Governor at such a great school. My aim to help our school achieve an outstanding grading by Ofsted and to also give something back to society through the School.
Sue Lampitt (Church Foundation Governor)
Sue has a longstanding association with the school. Now retired, Sue enjoyed a career as a local secondary school teacher combined with farming. Sue is a member of the Performance & Standards Committee.
Hampton Lucy CofE Primary School and Nursery is a very special place for me. Three generations of my family have attended this school and I have volunteered here on and off for forty years. I have a particular interest in Early Years and Primary education because these are the foundation of all that follows. Love of learning developed in the early years will last a lifetime.
Keith Groen (Parent Governor)
Keith is a Mechanical Engineer and has worked for Jaguar Land Rover for over 15 years, having graduated from Bath University in 2002.
Outside work, Keith volunteered as a Civilian Instructor in the RAF Air Cadets for over 10 years. In the classroom he taught children in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics based subjects. Outside the classroom, Keith is a qualified Expedition Leader and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Assessor, helping children aged 13-17 to grow in confidence and develop an adventurous, caring and creative spirit; giving them a life-changing opportunity to be the very best they can be.
Keith has a passion for computers and technology; he developed and built a flight simulator for the RAF Air Cadets and set up and ran their computer network for many years. When he isn't glued to a computer screen he spends time working on DIY projects at home, working in the garden and trying very hard not to get lost in the mountains on adventure training weekends.
Keith has two daughters at Hampton Lucy School and has been a Parent Governor since January 2016, serving on the Performance & Standards Committee.
Hampton Lucy CofE Primary School and Nursery excels at creating an environment where children are valued and are able to develop their own self-esteem and confidence. I applied to become a parent governor because l want to support the school in their efforts to raise expectations, and help our children to achieve their potential (whatever this may be) both academically and creatively.
